[Backend] Learning pages internal description

The new description field in the Learning Page settings will allow you to keep your library more organized and will help you work will filtered content in a more effective way. Below we’ll tell you how to get the most out of this new feature.

When creating a new Learning Page in the Learning Page Library, you'll find a new text field below the usual description field (see image). In this field you can add a description that will help you differentiate this page from other pages with the same title, for example. Note that this particular description field is only visible in the library in the learning page previews and can only be seen by your administrators. Onboardees won’t see this internal description field.

A good example of the use of this field would be a customer that wants to set up a learning page on "Your office" for every location they have. The actual content will probably be different for each office location, but the title and overall structure of the page will be the same, which can make it difficult to find the page you need when browsing through the library. With the new description field you can add whatever information you need (in this case perhaps the location) to know which page is which, so managing your content is a lot easier.

How to add this description:

Step 1: Go to the learning page library and look for the page you want to add a description for.

Step 2: Go the ‘Edit’ mode by clicking on the “Edit”-icon.

Step 3: Next, open the Edit Page Settings screen by clicking on the 3 dots at the top of the page.

The internal description field can be found underneath the normal description field that was already there. Enter your description and click on “Save settings” and then don’t forget to Publish as well.

Step 4: When you look for this page again in the library the internal description should now be visible in the Learning Page preview on the right.
